Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC)

Established in 1968, APCC is Cape Cod’s region-wide nonprofit environmental advocacy and education organization, working to adopt laws, policies and programs that protect and enhance Cape Cod’s natural resources and quality of life.

In 2020, APCC completed the installation of a 10.86 kW solar array on the office and shed roofs at their newly purchased headquarters in Dennis, MA. The system also includes a 16 kW eco battery storage system for back-up during electrical outages, common from Cape Cod storms and hurricanes.

The TernSOLAR challenge grant supported the cost of the solar array and battery storage system. Matching funds raised contributed to APCC’s operations and its evolving transformation to a leading center for environmental advocacy and sustainability.

TernSOLAR Grant Amount: $60,000

We are fully committed to being a strong voice for action in this growing climate crisis. As one of the Cape’s prominent environmental advocacy organizations, it’s essential to lead by example. Our transition to renewable energy allows us to take advantage of the many benefits, and also to use this opportunity to educate and encourage practical action to reduce carbon emissions on a regional scale. We invite anyone interested in seeing the solar panels and battery installation to call us. We’re happy to give a tour.
